Applications
An MPS-128 consists of four MPS-32 chassis linked together via fiber optic cables to create a low-latency, non-blocking configuration of up to 128 channels. The MPS-32 sub-switches can be centrally co-located in a large matrix switch or up to 14 km apart. The MPS-128 is typically used at shore-based test, evaluation, and training commands to allow equipment to be easily and rapidly reconfigured in order to mimic many different ship combat system configurations. The MPS-128 allows network operators and test managers to interconnect MIL-STD-1397C Type E devices without the need to ever disconnect NTDS cables.
