CPG-2110 Continuous Playback Generator
Converts digital I & Q waveform samples to analog I & Q waveforms

CPG-2110 Continuous Playback Generator
Part #: CPG-2110
The CPG-2110, Continuous Playback Generator, converts digital I & Q waveform samples to analog I & Q waveforms. These are used to drive the I & Q inputs of industry leading Vector Signal Generators (VSG) to modulate an RF carrier and recreate an RF spectrum. Using X-COM's graphical user interface IQC control software, users select an I & Q file for playback. The files can be those directly captured and saved by an X-COM IQC-2110. Alternatively, the captured data can be post processed with X-COM's RF Editor or Spectro-X software and the modified waveform can be saved and played through the CPG-2110.
IQC Control provides the operator several waveform playback options. Files can be played in their entirety, or repeated a user selectable number of times, or segments of files can be played. Segment start and stop times can be designated based on the selection of file markers from pull-down menus, markers plus time offsets or time since file start. The markers are inserted in the I&Q file as a result of trigger events received during the data capture from external devices.
Features
-
150 MHz Playback BW ensures utility of investment even as future RF systems and devices utilize more complex modulation schemes, higher order error correction coding and higher information rates
-
Looped playback of files, or precisely defined file segments, provides an extremely powerful tool for diagnosing and correcting communications errors caused by intermittent or short duration channel anomalies.
-
Equipment can be tested, and performance compared, using waveforms and spectra played by the CPG-2110 that are consistent in amplitude, phase, spectral shape and occupied bandwidth.
-
High fidelity and repeatability of output allows a CPG-2110 to be used as a replacement for a "Golden" radio in manufacturing.
-
Compatibility with a wide variety of industry leading VSG's minimizes the need to purchase a specialized VSG just for waveform playback
