Applications
Using MPS-128 CPU cards, up to four MPS-32 chassis can be linked together via fiber optic cables to create low-latency, non-blocking configurations of 64, 96, or 128 channels. The MPS-32 sub-switches can be centrally co-located in a large matrix switch or up to 14 km apart. The MPS-128 is typically used at shore-based test, evaluation, and training commands to allow equipment to be easily and rapidly reconfigured in order to mimic many different ship combat system configurations. The MPS-128 CPU card allows network operators and test managers to interconnect NTDS Type E devices without the need to ever disconnect NTDS cables.
