Applications

The XPS-32 is part of X-COM's line of COTS (Commercial-Off-The-Shelf) NTDS switching solutions. XPS switches can be combined to create rapidly-configurable, easy-to-control, and highly-reliable switching networks. The XPS product line includes fiber optic interconnection of switches enabling non-blocking configurations of 32, 64, 96, or 128 channels. The scalable units make it possible to interconnect large tactical equipment colocated or remotely located into a non-blocking switching network up to 14 km apart. The XPS-32 offers interconnection of tactical computers, peripherals, or other devices connected in pairs through rear-panel mounted connectors. Groups of four similar interfaces are connected to one of the eight removable line cards.

Design and Testing

The XPS-32 delivers performance with reliability. It has been rigorously field-tested with demonstrated bit-error rates of less than 10-10 and latency less than 500 nanoseconds. The XPS-32 features a modular design and is very reliable, simple to repair and operate, and requires no routine maintenance. The XPS-32 is an extremely flexible and cost-effective and COTS NTDS solution delivering unparalleled performance.
